These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and 4cs BV for your use of DeckSlide. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use DeckSlide.

01Introduction

These terms (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of DeckSlide, the website at deckslide.com, and all related features and applications (together, the “Service”). They form a binding agreement between you and 4cs BV. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If you use DeckSlide on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation, and “you” includes that organisation. If you join a live session as a guest without creating an account, the sections on Acceptable use, Live sessions and Disclaimers and liability still apply to you.

02Who we are

DeckSlide is operated by 4cs BV, a private limited company (besloten vennootschap) incorporated under Belgian law.

03The service

DeckSlide is a browser-based product with two connected halves. The first is a motion-design deck editor in which you build presentations using layers, keyframes, shape morphing, transitions, text effects and multi-track audio. The second is a live audience runtime: you go live as a host, and your audience joins by join code or QR — with no account and nothing to install — to watch your deck rendered live in their own browser.

Inside a live session, DeckSlide provides public chat, private one-to-one direct messages with a staff inbox, a raise-hand queue, live captions with a saved transcript, and optional two-way microphone and camera. DeckSlide does not record sessions, and does not offer file export — there is no PNG, PDF, PPTX, video or other download of your decks or of a session.

The Service is under active development and evolves over time; features may be added, changed or removed. DeckSlide is currently free while in preview. Billing functionality is built into the product, but paid plans are not yet active. See Plans and fees for how charging would work if and when paid plans are introduced.

04Your account

To use the editor and to host live sessions, you need an account. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Google (OAuth). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.

You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it up to date. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age for digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. You can close your account at any time by contacting [email protected].

05Acceptable use

You agree to use DeckSlide lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you must not:

We may remove content or restrict access where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken. You can report abuse to [email protected].

06Your content

You keep ownership of the decks you build and the media you upload (“Your Content”). These Terms do not transfer any ownership of Your Content to us.

To operate the Service, you grant 4cs BV a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — including rendering your deck live to the attendees you invite into a session. This licence exists only so we can run the features you use; it ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies that remain in routine backups until they rotate out, and except where we must retain data to meet a legal obligation.

We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to train any AI model. DeckSlide has no AI features of any kind. Your decks, uploads, messages and transcripts are used only to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights necessary to upload it and to present it in a live session, and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right.

07Live sessions

When you host a live session, you are responsible for the content you present and for the conduct of your session. As host, you control participants’ microphones and cameras, and you can assign cohost and moderator roles to help you run the room. Attendees join without accounts, by join code or QR, and view your deck live in their own browser.

You must present only content you are entitled to use, and you must run your session in line with the Acceptable use rules above and with applicable law. If your session collects information from attendees (for example, through chat or direct messages) for your own purposes, you are responsible for handling that information lawfully and for informing your attendees as required.

DeckSlide does not record live sessions. Microphone and camera streams are transmitted live and are not stored by us after the session ends. Session metadata, chat, direct messages and saved caption transcripts are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

08Plans and fees

DeckSlide is currently free while in preview, and no payment is required to use it. This section describes how charging would work if and when paid plans are introduced.

If we launch paid plans, the applicable price, billing period and plan features will be shown to you before you subscribe, and you will be asked to confirm. Payments would be processed by our payment providers, Stripe and Mollie; your use of their services is subject to their terms. Prices would be exclusive of tax unless stated, and Belgian VAT (or the VAT of your country, where applicable) would be added where required. Subscriptions would renew automatically for the chosen billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date, and you could cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current period. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it is resolved.

09Refunds and withdrawal

This section applies if and when paid plans are introduced. While the Service is free, it does not apply.

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract for a digital service. However, where you ask us to begin providing the digital service immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun, the standard immediate-digital-delivery waiver applies and the 14-day right no longer covers the portion already provided. Where the right of withdrawal applies and has not been waived, we will refund you without undue delay using the same means of payment you used.

Outside the withdrawal right, fees for paid plans are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we decide, at our discretion, to grant a refund. To exercise a withdrawal or refund request, contact [email protected].

10Changes to the service and terms

We may change, add or remove features of the Service as it develops. We may also update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the Service, our business, or the law. When we make a material change to these Terms, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of DeckSlide after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Service and close your account.

11Suspension and termination

You may stop using DeckSlide and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use poses a security, legal or reputational risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach before acting; in urgent cases (for example, to protect the Service or others) we may act immediately.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will handle any remaining personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply.

12Intellectual property

The Service itself — including the DeckSlide software, editor, live runtime, design, branding, logos and documentation — is owned by 4cs BV or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with them; they do not grant you any right in our software or brand beyond that use.

You must not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or create derivative works of the Service, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it. Any feedback or suggestions you send us may be used freely and without obligation to you. As set out in Your content, you keep ownership of Your Content.

13Third-party services

DeckSlide relies on certain third-party providers to function, including Google (for optional sign-in), Stripe and Mollie (for payments on paid plans), and LiveKit (for real-time audio and video in live sessions), alongside EU-based hosting, storage and cache providers and an error-monitoring provider. These providers are described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of a third-party service through DeckSlide may also be subject to that provider’s own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, but we choose our providers with care.

14Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work hard to keep DeckSlide reliable, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what is described. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties that are not expressly given in these Terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, to the extent the law allows us to exclude it.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it cannot be limited under law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any of your mandatory rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

15Indemnity

If you use DeckSlide other than as a consumer, you agree to indemnify and hold 4cs BV harmless from claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, from Your Content, or from your unlawful or infringing use of the Service — including content you present or conduct you allow in a live session you host. This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach or negligence, and nothing in it affects the mandatory rights of consumers.

16Law enforcement and the DSA

4cs BV acts as a hosting provider under the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). We designate a single point of contact for authorities and for users on matters covered by the DSA: [email protected], in English.

We comply with lawful orders from competent Belgian and EU authorities to act against illegal content or to provide information, and we will respond in accordance with the DSA and applicable law. If you believe content on DeckSlide is illegal, you can notify us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify and assess it, and we will review it and take appropriate action. We may inform affected users of action taken, and provide a statement of reasons, where the DSA requires it.

17Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by Belgian law. The courts of Antwerp, Belgium have exclusive jurisdiction, except that:

Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

18General terms

Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they refer to (including the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and 4cs BV regarding the Service.

Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its original intent.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right or provision, that is not a waiver of it.

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, provided your rights are not reduced.

Notices. We may give you notices by email or through the Service. You can reach us using the contacts below.
